Job summary

Encore Technical Solutions Inc. is seeking a senior Enterprise Architect to define the target state architecture and build the strategic technology roadmap for a major modernization program. The role is highly visible and reports to senior architecture leadership.

You will connect business strategy to technology direction, coach teams in enterprise architecture practices, and guide cross-functional technology evaluations across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• 8+ years leading target state architecture and roadmap definition
• Experience building architecture views and models for an enterprise portfolio
• Experience leading the design of an enterprise system
• Deep knowledge of systems integration, APIs, integration patterns and software development practices
• Solid understanding of cloud platform services and the commercial application landscape

Responsibilities

• Define the enterprise technology roadmap and align it with business priorities
• Model the current state and transition state architectures across the application portfolio
• Run workshops with business and technology stakeholders to learn how current systems support key business functions
• Present cross-domain solution options and recommendations to decision-makers
• Guide intersystem design decisions, including functional placement, integration and system boundaries
• Lead cross-functional technology product evaluations and define lifecycles for technologies across the portfolio
• Assess industry and technology trends for their potential value to the business

We're working with a well-established Canadian organization that's in the middle of a large, multi-year technology modernization. They're looking for a senior Enterprise Architect to define the target state architecture and build the strategic technology roadmap that will guide the program.

This contract role is highly visible and reports to senior architecture leadership. You'll connect business strategy to technology direction, working closely with business and IT stakeholders. You'll also coach and guide teams through enterprise architecture practices along the way.

What you'll do

What you bring

• 8+ years of experience, including leading target state architecture and roadmap definition
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining architecture views and models for an enterprise portfolio
• Experience leading the design of an enterprise system
• Deep knowledge of systems integration, APIs, integration patterns and software development practices
• Solid understanding of cloud platform services and the commercial application landscape
• Strong facilitation, influencing and communication skills with stakeholders up to the executive level
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or a related field, or equivalent experience
• TOGAF, Zachman and/or ArchiMate certification is an asset
