We are looking for an exceptional, experienced English Teacher to join our Morven Campus (Grades 8-12). The ideal candidate is a caring and passionate educator who values the power of language. Engaging, innovative, and collaborative, the candidate demonstrates excellence in instructional and assessment practices and is committed to ongoing professional growth. The role includes contributing to various aspects of school life, including coaching and extracurricular responsibilities. This is a Permanent Full-Time position starting August 22, 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the BC Ministry of Education’s English Language Arts Curricula, meeting or exceeding requirements
  • Create a learning environment that enables individual learners to thrive through adaptation and differentiation
  • Collaborate to design innovative lessons that build curricular competencies with rich, relevant, and challenging content
  • Teach both Middle (Grades 8-9) and Senior (Grades 10-12) English classes; may include roles as a grade team or AP course leader
  • Engage in ongoing professional development; be motivated and willing to implement new pedagogical and assessment practices
  • Experience teaching AP Capstone Seminar, AP Literature, or AP Language & Composition is an asset
  • Fulfill additional roles such as advisor or Community FLEX lead as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Education; a Master’s degree or equivalent is an asset
  • Experience teaching English at Grades 8-12; advanced experience preferred
  • Placement training and experience are assets
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • BC Teaching Certification
  • Basic First Aid certification
  • Canadian residency and legal entitlement to work in Canada

The current faculty grid annual salary range for this position is $73,845 to $109,969, based on experience and educational qualifications. Faculty with a Master’s degree will be paid at the higher end of the range.
