Job summary

Aversan Inc. in Montreal, QC, is seeking an Engineering Technician to join our team. You will validate product developments and production units and act as engineering lead for troubleshooting MAD-XR sensors in production.

Qualifications

  • A relevant College Degree in Electronics Technology.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in validation of electronic systems from test plan definition to documentation of test results.
  • Experienced in troubleshooting electronic systems. Experience using oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, signal generators and data acquisition systems.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to permanently address issues.
  • Experience integrating electronics and software components is an asset.
  • Knowledge of production at scale environment. Ability to identify initiatives to increase production efficiency.
  • Ability to analyze test data and identify trends affecting product quality and manufacturing yield. Ability to leverage datasets using Python for this purpose is an asset.
  • Strong technical writing skills and ability to document tests, investigations and engineering recommendations.
  • Ability to work in a controlled configuration environment and manage hardware, software and documentation revisions.
  • Ability to adapt to change in a fast-evolving work environment and tolerate ambiguity.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to a wide range of audiences, both orally and in writing.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) required.

Responsibilities

  • You will work closely with the production team and support them by identifying issues and providing solutions to permanently resolve them
  • You will also contribute to the identification and implementation of strategies to increase the production test pass rate.
  • Support the Hardware Development Manager and project managers to ensure that the developed solutions are coherent and functional to meet the delivery milestones of the MAD-XR program.
  • Interact with multiple groups at CAE, such as electronics, production, planning, procurement teams, and external suppliers.
  • Prepare test procedures, execute tests, and document test results for the MAD-XR product (magnetic anomaly detection) and associated equipment.
  • Develop Subject Matter Expertise on production test process. Identify and participate in the delivery of improvements to the test process and tools.
  • Support Inspector Technicians in the troubleshooting of MAD-XR sensors that fail production tests. This may include autonomously conducting troubleshooting tests on the sensor and its subcomponents when necessary.
  • Participate in the production of customer deliverable technical documentation packages, including test procedures to verify project requirements.
  • Support various initiatives to enhance product reliability and mission success

Engineering Technician

We are currently seeking a qualified Engineering Technician to join our team. The Engineering Technician role is responsible for validating product developments and production units. Compensation:$65,000 – $76,000 CAD

The base salary or rate offered to an applicant within this range is determined by considering several factors, including the individual's geographic location, skills, competencies, and unique qualifications. This ensures compensation is fair and aligned with the specific requirements and attributes of each candidate.
