Job description

At Janicki Industries, we turn complex ideas into real-world solutions through advanced engineering and manufacturing. Our teams design and build innovative structures, tooling, and systems that support industries including aerospace, space, defense, marine, and architecture.

Across every role, from engineers and technicians to operations and support teams, our people help solve challenging problems, push the limits of design and manufacturing, and create solutions that make a lasting impact.

Department Summary

BIS team bridges engineering, design, manufacturing, and IT — translating business requirements into technical solutions, building dashboards and queries that drive program decision‑making, and supporting every phase of system implementations from requirements gathering through go‑live and stabilization.

Roles And Responsibilities

The Engineering Systems Analyst (ESA) solves engineering and product lifecycle information problems by analyzing requirements, configuring and optimizing CAD and PLM platforms, and recommending system controls and workflows that support design, manufacturing, and engineering operations. The ESA serves as the critical liaison between engineering, manufacturing, IT, and program management — translating design and production needs into actionable system requirements and driving continuous improvement across CAD, PLM, and design software environments.

The following essential job functions are performed as an Engineering Systems Analyst I:

  • Gathers requirements through interviews, document analysis, surveys, and basic use case development under supervision
  • Assists in evaluating information from multiple sources and distinguishing stated requests from underlying business needs
  • Helps develop and maintain requirements specifications and business requirement documents using standard templates
  • Supports design of basic reports and dashboards aligned to business requirements
  • Serves as a junior liaison between engineering, design, and IT teams, participating in cross‑functional workgroups
  • Assists with documentation of functional and technical artifacts, use cases, and basic GUI/interface designs
  • Supports configuration, testing, and continuous improvement of engineering platforms (Siemens NX, Siemens Teamcenter, Dassault Systèmes CATIA V5) under guidance
  • Documents and maintain engineering system process flows, CAD/PLM data control records, configuration change logs, and design data management procedures
  • Participates in CAD/PLM implementation and upgrade activities, including requirements gathering, UAT support, and post‑deployment stabilization
  • Assists with CAD software license tracking and basic upgrade coordination
  • Learns and applies automation scripts, macro routines, and system integrations (e.g., Kubatek, ECTR) through training and mentorship
  • Supports enforcement of industry standards and data control practices in engineering design processes
  • Assists in maintaining current training materials for PLM/CAD software and data control procedures
  • Develops basic engineering data queries and reports using SQL, Power BI, or PLM-native reporting modules under direction
  • Assists in analyzing PLM/CAD data to identify trends, anomalies, and process improvement opportunities
  • Supports documentation and status reporting of improvement implementation plans
  • Manages multiple assigned tasks and deadlines with guidance from senior staff
  • Adheres to Janicki IS documentation standards and procedural controls
  • Maintains reliable, punctual attendance as a condition of employment
  • Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality, which are essential functions of this role
  • Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications

Due to ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).

  • A bachelor’s degree or a combination of equivalent experience and education in a related field (Engineering, Drafting/Design Technology, Computer Science, or Information Technology) preferred. Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED.
  • Basic understanding of engineering design processes, CAD/PLM systems, and product lifecycle management principles.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Requirement of strong analytical and project management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret engineering and design needs and translate them into PLM application and operational requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to Siemens NX, Siemens Teamcenter, or Dassault Systèmes CATIA V5 through coursework, internships, or prior work experience
  • Familiarity with basic SQL queries or experience with Power BI or similar reporting/dashboard tools
  • Coursework or experience in business process analysis, requirements gathering, or systems documentation
  • Understanding of engineering or manufacturing environments (aerospace, automotive, or related industries)
