Vulcraft Canada West is seeking applicants for the position of Engineering Supervisor.

If you are a skilled engineering leader, you will be responsible for guiding the division’s Structural Engineers, Detailers and Shop Order teams, driving technical excellence and safe, accurate product delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Developing and implementing teammate training, providing performance appraisals, mentoring and coaching and recruiting.
  • Managing the design, detailing and shop order schedules, as well as performing project design if required.
  • Control and supervise all engineering processes, ensuring we meet or exceed all applicable specifications and standards, and guarantee our customers a safe and accurate product while protecting the interests of both our customer and Nucor Corporation.
  • Providing “World Class” service, meeting customer needs quickly and effectively.
  • Partner with the Division Leadership team to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support Business Development through customer and specifier interactions promoting Nucor’s value proposition and cultivating deeper partnerships.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Requirements
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to obtain Professional Engineer designation within 1 year of appointment.
  • 5 years (minimum) of structural engineering experience in a related field.
  • 3 years (minimum) of successfully leading a team.
  • The ability to travel to the United States when required.
Preferences
  • Engineering experience in steel joists, metal deck or steel fabrication and erection.
  • CWB Welding Engineer experience.
