MDA Space invites applications for a Software Developer Student on the Robotics & Space Operations team at our Brampton office, beginning January 2027 for a 12-16 month mandate.

Leverage your growing software expertise in C/C++, C#, and TypeScript within a collaborative space engineering environment that includes space robotics and satellite operations. A security clearance requirement applies; accommodations are available during recruitment.

Qualifications

• Strong written/verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Currently pursuing a bachelor degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science; transcript required.

Software Developer Student

We’re on the hunt for a Software Developer Student on our Robotics & Space Operations team at our Brampton office, starting January 2027 for a 12-16 month mandate.

With 40 years of operational experience and proven performance on the iconic Canadarm programs including Space Shuttle and International Space Station robotics and operations support, our Robotics & Space Operations team has 100% mission success in making space dreams come true.

Responsibilities

• Participate in software solution designs for ground and flight systems
• Participate in documenting and communicating designs/plans
• Implement and test software solutions
• Learn new skills
• Review the work of others
• Participate in estimation efforts for new tasks
• Provide feedback and suggestions to improve coding standards, tools, processes, etc.
• Other duties as will be assigned from time to time by management or a team lead

Required Skills/Experience

• Strong written/verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Intermediate programming knowledge in one or more languages used at MDA Space
  • MDA Space uses C/C++, C#, Typescript (Angular/React)
• Working towards a bachelor degree in a relevant field of study (e.g. Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, etc.). Please include your transcript as part of your application
• Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and a positive thinker
