Job summary

Pratt & Whitney Canada in Longueuil, QC, is seeking an Engineering Specialist to manage public funding contracts and coordinate academic research collaborations. The role is onsite, Monday to Friday, with flexible hours.

You will liaise with government funding entities, monitor agreements, and support audits while coordinating external parties on academic contracts. Strong French and English written and spoken skills are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in administration, or engineering, or a related professional degree with interest in technical aspects.
  • 0–2 years of experience in government funding programs in Quebec and/or Canada.
  • 0–2 years of experience in contract management, with interest in innovation projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in French and English.

Responsibilities

  • Distribute and coordinate information requests from public funding entities to enterprise stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and monitor current funding agreements.
  • Ensure rigorous monitoring of all funding agreements and data collection for conformity.
  • Support government audits related to funding agreements.
  • Coordinate negotiations and contractual agreements with external parties for academic collaboration.

What will your day-to-day look like?

The position combines the management of funding contracts with the coordination of agreements for academic research projects.

  • Distribute and coordinate information requests from public funding entities to the relevant enterprise stakeholders and ensure efficient liaison with such entities;
  • Coordinate and monitoring of current funding agreements;
  • Ensure a rigorous monitoring of all funding agreements, including the collection of technical and various data, enabling conformity validation against all agreement related obligations, as requested by governments;
  • Support the government audits related to all applicable funding agreements;
  • Coordinate negotiations and contractual agreements with various external parties for academic collaboration contracts;
  • Monitor contractual agreements: receive requests, update the internal tracking system and ensure internal directories are updated;

What do you need to be successful?

  • Bachelor in administration or in engineering, or any other professional degree combined with a strong interest for technical aspects;
  • 0-2 years of experience in government funding programs in Quebec and/or Canada;
  • 0-2 years of experience in contract management;
  • An interest in innovation projects;
  • A desire to work with stakeholders from various sectors both internally and externally;
  • Pragmatic and business oriented;
  • Focused, able to tackle and prioritize a number of tasks, risks and considerations;
  • Concise and efficient communicator both in French and English;
  • This position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
