Role Description / Key Responsibilities
- Provide project planning and scheduling support for the engineering team, focusing on their tasks and deliverables. Support input into the overall project schedule.
- Understand engineering disciplines, their sequences, and deliverables.
- Knowledge of work breakdown structure (WBS), critical path method (CPM) scheduling, earned value analysis, logic, and baseline management.
- Familiarity with engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) to plan and schedule projects from start to finish.
- Update, review, and analyze schedule progress regularly, providing feedback to the Project Engineer for project forecasting. Incorporate change orders and update project baselines as needed.
- Participate in project meetings, providing feedback and insights.
- Prepare schedule inputs for engineering team submissions for project funding approval.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and requirements.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Manager and team on schedule improvements and future planning.
- Assist in training team members on schedule requirements, processes, and tools like Cameco schedule standards.
- Require regular in-person attendance at the Saskatoon office, with potential for some remote work (e.g., Monday to Thursday in office, Friday at home). Do not apply if this cannot be met.
Skills / Previous Experience
- 5+ years of advanced proficiency in MS Project.
- 5+ years of experience in Project Controls, Project Management, or Engineering. A P.Eng. designation is preferred due to the need to understand engineering design interactions.
- Experience with other scheduling tools like JIRA or Wrike is desirable but not required.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and pay close attention to detail.
