PROJECT ENGINEER
Location: Nisku, AB
Job Summary:
The Project Engineer is a full-time position reporting to the VP, Engineering. As a member of the Engineering Team, the Project Engineer is responsible for supporting field operations, equipment design and development, field inspections, modifications & repairs, collaborating with the sales team, and helping generate new business.
Responsibilities:
- Create repair procedures and supervise field repairs and modifications.
- Perform field inspections according to API 4G & CAODC RP’s.
- Conduct mechanical/structural engineering analysis using hand calculations, finite element analysis, and CAD techniques.
- File and store all analysis documentation per departmental procedures.
- Develop and adhere to project schedules.
- Ensure all work complies with customer specifications.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure project success.
- Prepare presentations and proposals to clients to secure work.
- Plan scope of work, evaluate engineering quality, and manage project planning and scheduling.
- Provide cost estimates and documentation based on best practices.
- Report unsafe or environmentally unsound conditions and initiate corrective actions.
- Provide weekly reports to management.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (P.Eng registration with APEGA).
- 5-10 years of experience with oilfield equipment design and inspections.
- Experience with manufacturing processes, structural design, weld calculations, and FEA is an asset; familiarity with API 4F and 8C is preferred.
- Experience with SAFI, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Ansys is preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of API 4G & CAODC practices.
- Willingness to travel and be available on weekends for emergencies.
- Comfort with heights.
Qualifications:
- Willing to travel and work on rigs and onsite locations.

- Comply with OSHA, EUSD, and other safety training requirements.
- Follow all workplace safety protocols and report hazards or incidents.
