We have an exciting and innovative new team focused on groundbreaking projects, offering a chance to influence future design decisions. You can be based in either our Pickering or Mississauga, ON, offices, within a hybrid working environment.

As the Engineering Manager, Regulatory & Engagement, reporting to the Engineering Director, New Build FEED, you will serve as both the technical lead and coordinator of all non-design engineering and specialist work scopes, as well as the people leader for a growing team of discipline-focused technical and regulatory specialists.

The team is in a start-up phase, so this role is hands-on, with everyone contributing to meeting our commitments and exceeding client expectations. We aim to be the first in the door with potential new build clients to secure large-scale projects and foster repeat business. This dynamic role requires broad knowledge and the ability to guide and enable high-quality technical work.

Your role within the team:

Technical Leadership

Planning and overseeing the non-design engineering and technical specialist work of your team, including:

  • Ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery of all work scopes, such as regulatory licensing, safety analysis, environmental assessments, stakeholder and indigenous engagement.
  • Supporting and coordinating the technical efforts of team members.
  • Driving integration of disciplines and resources for each project, from initial contact through licensing and beyond.
  • Managing risks associated with your team’s activities.
  • Defining goals, strategies, and success criteria for each project scope.
  • Tracking and implementing regulatory and engagement requirements, ensuring compliance and resolving conflicts.
  • Ensuring work meets applicable codes, standards, and quality requirements.
  • Participating in design reviews and quality assurance processes.

People Management and Team Development

  • Motivating and supporting your team, fostering a supportive and high-performing environment.
  • Setting goals, monitoring progress, and promoting professional development.
  • Conducting performance reviews, managing resources, and participating in recruitment.
  • Developing and tracking key performance indicators.
  • Building strong stakeholder relationships to support project success.
  • Supporting business development through technical excellence and proposal contributions.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements.

Why choose AtkinsRéalis?

  • Opportunities to work on major projects for diverse clients.
  • Focus on work-life balance and professional growth.
  • Competitive compensation, benefits, share plan, and pension.
  • Health and safety-focused environment.

The ideal candidate:

  • Degree in engineering, technology, or science from an accredited university.
  • At least 8 years of experience in regulatory or stakeholder engagement, with 2+ years in a regulated industry like nuclear.
  • Leadership experience in technical teams.
  • Knowledge of nuclear licensing, safety regulations, and standards in Canada; familiarity with international standards is a plus.
  • Professional engineering license recognized in Canada is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and risk management skills.
  • Eligibility for Security Clearance and ability to travel as needed.
