We are continuing to grow our leadership team, and currently are hiring an Engineering Manager for our Password Manager team.

As Engineering Manager for one of our user-facing Password Manager teams, you will lead and empower one of our most prominent development teams at 1Password. Reporting to the Head of Password Manager Development, you will help craft our vision and make it a reality through creative engineering and identifying required solutions to hard problems.

You will be responsible for tactical execution by the team, helping to coordinate activities such as cycle planning, design reviews, and project planning. You will also be responsible for hiring and coaching world-class talent for your team.

This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.

What we're looking for:

• At least 3 years experience in a role where you were responsible for managing a team ofsoftware engineers and everything that comes with it.
• You have significant hands-on development experience (preferably in the app space) andhave engineered your way out of many complex, unscoped problems. Having lived the life ofa senior developer before, you leverage your own experience to coach and train up thedevelopers on your team.
• You have successfully coordinated and delivered large scale projects before that touchedmultiple areas of the business, product, or underlying architecture.
• The ability to create and maintain a positive, healthy team environment in which everyone issupported, encouraged, and meaningfully challenged to do great work. You motivate andinspire others. After meeting with you, people get back to their job with more energy. You area force of positivity and lift people up when they need it.
• You enjoy having the freedom and responsibility to make final decisions on most everythingfor your team. Handling tough problems gives you energy and you can make the harddecisions even when there isn’t much information to go on.
• You are someone who is ready to roll up their sleeves and get to work themselves ontechnical challenges.
• You are capable of driving the delivery of projects, and creating roadmaps for future work.

Bonus for:

• Experience managing remote and distributed teams.
• User experience/design background
• Experience in the SaaS B2B space

What you can expect:

• Manage engineers and develop engineering leads. Foster an environment of innovation,execution, and collaboration.
• Work to scope and plan key deliverables for projects and initiatives with the team.
• Drive execution with an emphasis on iterations and deliverables, quality, velocity, andcommunication.
• Provide technical leadership to developers both in your team and across the engineeringorganization.
• Grow a team of strong engineers to create an inclusive workplace.
• Continue scaling a highly specialized engineering team by working with a team ofEngineering Managers to continuously refine hiring, onboarding, and developmentprocesses.

USA-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $190,000 USD and $258,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.

Canada-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $172,000 CAD and $232,000 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
