Job Description
- Work with customers and counterparts on new bellows assembly design and applications.
- Study and analyze customer design requirements, specifications, and other data to evaluate feasibility, cost, and tooling/equipment requirements.
- Review and approve the design of new products using 3D CAD modeling.
- Review and approve the manufacturing processes of new products, including shop floor routing, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Check the accuracy of drawings and release them for prototype development and mass production.
- Ensure the timely completion of NPI activities and coordinate FAI builds to identify potential issues and take preventive actions.
- Review and approve the bill of materials and routing for new part numbers in the ERP system.
- Perform product validation according to product design specifications and customer requirements.
- Work with vendors to fabricate and test functional prototypes of new products, component changes, and design improvements.
- Liaise with customers for engineering changes, raise ECNs, and coordinate with internal personnel to ensure smooth implementation.
- Lead CIP/Kaizen projects to meet cost savings targets, reduce cycle time, improve yield, and implement them on time.
- Participate in cost reduction activities by evaluating design simplification, alternative materials, and changes in suppliers.
- Work with the facility team to implement automation projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD is necessary.
- Familiarity with welding technology, material science, machining, and stamping parts fabrication processes, with exposure to FEA, is preferred.
