Job summary

Lycopodium Americas is recruiting an Engineering Manager (Mechanical) to lead the Mississauga design group. The role requires 15+ years in mineral processing or metallurgical plants with a mechanical focus and a P.Eng in Ontario.

You will mentor teams, supervise design reviews, and manage budgets and schedules for EPCM and studies while ensuring compliance with standards and procedures.

Qualifications

• Post‑graduate mineral processing/metallurgical plant experience required.
• P.Eng designation in Ontario required.
• Global project leadership in mining with mechanical systems focus.

is currently recruiting for an Engineering Manager (Mechanical) to join our growing Engineering group in Mississauga, Ontario.

The tasks you'll perform

• Provide creative, forward‑thinking solutions to complex design challenges.
• Approve design drawings, standards, specifications, and procedures.
• Lead and monitor design team performance, offering feedback, guidance, and support.
• Prepare man‑hour budgets and design schedules for Study and EPCM estimates.
• Oversee design reviews throughout all project development stages.
• Support pre‑commissioning activities and manage field engineering requirements.
• Manage vendor documentation reviews and ensure accurate dissemination to engineering and drafting teams.
• Coordinate multi‑discipline design and drafting resources to meet deliverable dates and budget targets.
• Ensure all design work complies with company procedures and relevant Australian/International Standards.
• Provide technical input for proposals and business development efforts while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and team development.

The expertise you'll bring

• Minimum 15+ years of post-graduate experience in mineral processing or metallurgical plant, with a focus on mechanical equipment engineering within the mining discipline.
• Engineering qualification (or equivalent) with P.Eng designation in Ontario.
• Provides global project leadership across mining operations, with a strong focus on mechanical systems and equipment.
• Intuitive leader capable of initiating, leading, and managing change in complex environments.
• Proven ability to mentor teams, support professional development, and drive succession planning.
• Strong capability to evaluate work practices, implement systems, and recommend improvements or refinements.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality outputs with minimal supervision while meeting budget and schedule constraints.
• High attention to detail with exceptional expertise in engineering drawings, supported by strong technical, analytical, problem-solving, and business acumen skills.

The expected salary range for this role is $160,000 to $200,000. This range is based on the role’s job family and level and reflects a good faith estimate for the role at the time of posting. Your final offer will depend on factors such as market conditions, internal equity and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
