Job Summary

As a key member of the Building Systems team, you will manage and coordinate all building service activities, ensuring safe, efficient, reliable, and compliant operations of all facilities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage departmental priorities, ensuring reliable and compliant operation of facility systems.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and oversee performance of staff.
  • Maintain buildings, systems, equipment, grounds, and utility systems.
  • Manage calibration programs for building systems and manufacturing equipment.
  • Prioritize maintenance tasks, assign work, and ensure timely completion.
  • Document and approve maintenance and calibration activities.
  • Represent the department on committees and develop SOPs and work instructions.
  • Implement staff training to ensure GMP compliance.
  • Support facilities planning and project management, including budgets and contracts.
  • Manage utility and energy conservation initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement and ensure regulatory and safety compliance.
  • Foster a culture of trust, employee development, and open communication.
  • Recruit talent, onboard new employees, and ensure policy adherence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements

Education

  • Engineering Degree or Technologist Diploma (preferably Mechanical), or a Second Class Stationary Engineering Certificate (minimum). Post-graduate courses in building systems are desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Expertise in energy management.
  • Strong interpersonal, initiative, organizational, and communication skills; supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in software tools and keyboarding skills.

Experience

  • At least 8 years managing large physical plants.
  • Experience with pharmaceutical water systems and GMP systems is preferred.
