Job summary

General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the International Air team within the Air & Naval business area. You will drive program execution, balance schedule and cost constraints, and align with program goals and priorities.

You will manage a diverse group of engineers in software and systems, determine engineering paths, and support program management to achieve goals while resolving customer issues. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of engineering standards and methods.
• Experience in development, tests and sell-off of complex systems.
• Design and deployment of software for aircraft systems including air-worthiness.
• Proven ability to lead and direct multi-disciplined engineering staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with airborne products or aircraft modifications.
• Adaptable, able to lead in uncertainty.
• Familiarity with AI/ML models preferred.
• P.Eng licence preferred.
• Experience with airworthiness certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage delivery of requirements to the customer per program commitments.
• Lead a diverse group of engineers in software and systems.
• Determine engineering path within program constraints.
• Support Program Management to meet goals and resolve issues.
• Monitor engineering effectiveness and adjust as needed.
• Ensure compliance adherence and contract closure for product requirements.
• Foster teambuilding across multi-discipline teams.
• Manage deliveries with complex dependencies.
• Make and follow through on engineering trade-offs.
• Travel may be required.
