This role combines people leadership, technology delivery, and cross-functional program execution, providing the opportunity to influence both how solutions are built and how engineering teams grow.

The successful candidate will foster an inclusive, high-performing environment where engineers can do their best work while driving measurable business and technology outcomes.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers through regular feedback, career development conversations, mentorship, and growth opportunities.
  • Deliver secure, scalable, and reliable technology solutions that align with business priorities and customer needs.
  • Translate business, technical, and regulatory requirements into actionable engineering roadmaps and delivery plans.
  • Lead complex, cross-functional programs involving multiple technology teams, stakeholders, and dependencies.
  • Partner with business leaders, architects, technical leads, and subject matter experts to evaluate solutions and drive informed technology decisions.
  • Coordinate delivery across multiple workstreams, proactively managing risks, dependencies, priorities, and resource considerations.
  • Establish and continuously improve engineering standards, implementation practices, documentation, and operational processes that support sustainable delivery and maintenance.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance team effectiveness, quality, reliability, and delivery outcomes.
  • Provide clear and timely updates to senior business and technology leaders regarding progress, key decisions, risks, dependencies, and outcomes.
  • Foster an inclusive and collaborative team culture where diverse perspectives are valued, contributions are recognized, and individuals are supported in achieving their full potential.
  • Support organizational and technology transformation initiatives while helping teams successfully navigate change.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience leading software engineering teams, including people leadership, coaching, performance management, and talent development.
  • Experience delivering complex technology initiatives involving multiple teams, stakeholders, and business partners.
  • Ability to translate strategic business priorities into engineering roadmaps, delivery plans, and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles, modern software delivery practices, and the end-to-end Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to manage priorities, risks, dependencies, and competing demands.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts, trade-offs, and delivery status effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of software engineering practices including cloud technologies, APIs, application development, CI/CD, system reliability, and security.
  • Experience leading teams through organizational, process, or technology change.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, collaboration, and creating inclusive team environments.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working within financial services, insurance, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience with workforce planning, capacity planning, budgeting, or technology financial management.
  • Exposure to large-scale enterprise modernization or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience establishing engineering standards, governance practices, or delivery frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate alternatives, navigate ambiguity, and make informed decisions in complex environments.
  • Strong presentation, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and continuous learning.
