About The Role

As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for attracting, nurturing, coaching, and retaining world-class engineering talent. You will ensure that each engineer has a clear career progression plan, contribute to defining quality standards, and help build the vision for our engineering organization in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Attract, nurture, coach, and retain top engineering talent.
  • Develop career progression plans and provide regular, real-time feedback.
  • Ensure continuous learning and development through valuable training opportunities.
  • Contribute to defining engineering salary ranges and quality standards.
  • Help shape and execute the vision for the engineering organization.
  • Guide our clients in best practices to achieve great project success.
  • Work directly with client stakeholders to share progress and collaborate on solutions.

About You

The essentials :

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of professional engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of management experience.
  • Experience with Ruby and Go

  • Proven experience in engineering management.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentorship abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience defining and implementing quality standards in engineering practices.
  • Background in developing career growth frameworks in a technical setting.
  • Strong ability to communicate, collaborate, and empathize with others.
  • Good knowledge of design and architectural patterns and development best practices.
  • Previous experience collaborating on highly distributed teams.

    What We Offer

    Monks has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Monks may pay for the position at the time of posting. Monks may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.

    Salary Range$113,000—$135,000 CAD
