Technical Services Manager – Leadership Development Program

Location : Nova Scotia, Canada – Full relocation offered.

Candidates must be permanent residents of Canada.

Company Overview :

Our client is a global leader in advanced manufacturing and sustainable mobility solutions. With a strong presence across North America, the company is known for its innovation, operational excellence, and commitment to employee development. Their U.S. operations span multiple states and support a broad range of industrial and consumer markets.

The Opportunity :

This is not a typical management role—it's a launchpad for future executive leadership. As a Engineering Manager, you’ll lead cross-functional maintenance and reliability teams in a high-output, 24 / 7 production facility. You will oversee site-wide technical services including mechanical systems, electrical operations, energy management, and predictive maintenance, directly impacting safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

This position is part of the company’s Leadership Development Program, a strategic initiative designed to fast-track high-potential leaders into senior operational roles. As such, it requires exceptional leadership, a passion for manufacturing, and a willingness to relocate as you advance within the organization. The goal is to prepare you for future plant-level and enterprise-wide leadership positions.

What You’ll Do :

  • Lead, coach, and inspire a team that includes engineers, reliability experts, and skilled technicians.
  • Set strategic direction and oversee daily performance of maintenance, reliability, and energy management systems.
  • Manage technical services budgets and drive cost-effective, sustainable operations.
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts in safety, compliance, production reliability, and employee development.
  • Build a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Serve as a key contributor to site leadership, aligning department strategy with broader business goals.
  • Communicate performance metrics and business objectives across multiple levels of the organization.

What You’ll Bring :

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field (required); MBA or advanced degree (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in maintenance, reliability, or technical services.
  • Strong strategic and operational thinking with a bias for action.
  • Proven ability to lead high-performing teams in dynamic, complex environments.
  • Exceptional judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for continuous improvement and leadership development.
  • Willingness and ability to relocate to the United States as part of the leadership track.
  • Openness to a potential short-term international rotation for global development exposure.

Why Join?

This role is ideal for leaders who thrive on challenge, want to make a tangible impact, and are excited to grow with a purpose-driven, forward-thinking organization. You’ll be part of a team that values innovation, trust, and career growth—while building the foundation for a future in top-tier manufacturing leadership.
