The role reports to the Amrize North America Head of Engineering and focuses on developing large Capital (Capex) projects for the US and Canada, particularly in feasibility and front-end engineering design. The Engineering Manager oversees the technical multidisciplinary engineering aspects of projects.

What You’ll Accomplish
  • Develop large capital projects using standard methods, tools, and procedures, ensuring comprehensive development to meet investment decision gates on time and without rework. Manage project budgets through feasibility studies and deliver a realistic project budget for realization.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary engineering development with third parties, ensuring delivery of basic engineering documentation (layout, mass flow, flow sheets, general arrangement drawings), and technical appendices for tenders and contracts.
  • Provide technical clarifications to bidders, evaluate offers technically, and select suppliers and contractors based on performance. Review detailed engineering documents/drawings provided by contractors. Conduct safety, operability, maintainability, and value reviews with project stakeholders. Prepare project ‘request for approval’ documentation.
  • Organize and conduct formal project risk analyses with the Project Manager, Owner, and Steering Committee.
  • Coordinate technical support from engineering discipline engineers and support departments during construction, commissioning, and startup. Engage external experts as needed and align with internal and external subject matter experts.
  • Participate and contribute to engineering discussions in Steering Committees.
  • Provide technical support to ensure a smooth transition to operation post-handover.
  • Prepare and monitor the After-Action Review (AAR) process post-implementation, ensuring effective communication and validation of technical exchanges with engineers and suppliers.
  • Promote a culture of safety, adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments.
What We’re Looking For

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred.

Field of Study: Mechanical or Process Engineering.

Work Experience: At least 5 years in cement or similar heavy industry engineering roles.

Certifications: Project Management certification (e.g., PMI) is preferred.

Technical Skills: Industrial engineering related fields.

Travel: 30-40% mainly within the USA and Canada.
