Engineering Manager

Our client is searching for an Engineering Manager to join their team. This role will be responsible for ensuring that the engineering department is provided with exceptional service. A successful candidate will be customer-focused, flexible, and collaborative in their approach to working with people, both individually and in a group. This role reports directly to the Country Manager.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Design and develop engineering drawings, such as lifting plans, rigging plans, and transport arrangements.
2. Produce equipment calculations and operational procedures.
3. Stamp drawings according to requirements and design.
4. Supervise on-site operations if required.
5. Responsible for executing engineering on site.
6. Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
7. Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of engineering projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and develop effective engineering solutions.
9. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
10. Implement best practices in engineering processes to enhance productivity and efficiency.
11. Monitor project progress and address any challenges or obstacles that may arise.
12. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols throughout all engineering activities.
13. Facilitate communication between stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and expectations.

Your strengths include:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering or an equivalent; a Master’s Degree is preferred.
2. 1-5 years of experience as an Engineering Manager in the heavy lifting industry, crane, or transportation.
3. Professional Engineer licensed in Alberta, Ontario, British Columbia, or any other Engineering Order in Canada.
4. Strong experience in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
5. Strong understanding of engineering principles, methodologies, and tools.
6. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
7. Proficient in Project Management Software and Tools.
8. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
9. Knowledge of 3D software.
