Job summary

Chemelex in Canada seeks an engineer to design and analyze Electrical Heat Trace systems for the Syncrude Fort McMurray site. You will develop concepts, layouts, and specifications, and produce engineered drawings and Construction Work Packages with BOMs and test sheets.

Coordinate with project teams, supply chain, and customers to prioritize work, prepare requisitions, expedite materials, and support change orders while performing field checks in a live plant.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Petrochemical/industrial site experience and prior EHT experience preferred.
• Strong prioritization and multitasking abilities to manage multiple projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office; database familiarity a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze EHT systems including concepts, layouts, specs, and drawings.
• Build Construction Work Packages with BOMs, test sheets, and engineered drawings.
• Monitor project progress and adjust scope, timelines, and costs with the project manager.
• Prepare requisitions for project teams as needed.
• Prepare material documentation for customers and coordinate with procurement and supply chain.
• Expedite materials and manage schedules; ensure documentation through the project duration.
• Support change orders, including tracking quantities and document prep.
• Conduct field checks in live plant environments.

** position is located in Fort McMurray, Syncrude site. Work shift:

• Fort McMurray: preferred 5 – 8's (Mon to Friday, 8 hours per day) or 7 days on/ 7 days off (12 hours per day).

WHATYOU WILLEXPERIENCEIN THIS POSITION:

• Provides engineering design and analysisof EHT (Electrical Heat Trace) Systemswithin assigned project scope of work. This includes conceptual studies, layouts, specification development, and engineering drawings.
• BuildConstruction Work Packages (CWP’s) and Quality Work Packages, complete with all applicable content such as BillOfMaterials (BOM’s), Test sheets, EngineeredDrawings.
• Analyze project progress and, work with project manager to adjust scope,timelinesandcost
• Prepare requisitions asthe need arisesfor the projectteams
• Preparing material documentation for customers including EHT controllers, data specifications, and any necessary customer documents as per project specifications
• Analyze and communicate with the supply and procurement team priorities,expeditingand shipping within theproject
• Expedite any materials within supply chain and developschedulesEnsure documentation ismaintainedthrough the projectduration
• Change order support including development, quantity tracking and collection, and documentpreparation.
• Doing field checks in a live plant.

YOU HAVE:

• Obtaining a degree in Electricalor MechanicalEngineering or related Engineering degree; from an accredited post-secondary institution
• Knowledgeof the engineering, maintenance and/or operations experience at a petrochemical facility or industrial site.PreviousEHT experience is aplus
• Ability to adapt to multiple projects andpriorities
• Strong interpersonal, written and communication skills
• Ability toprioritizepriorities based ondeadlineswith attention to detail and accuracy
• Good MicrosoftOffice, other Database experience can be aplus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Willingness to learn how to retrieve and work withdata
• Possess solid time management skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer, construction, and project sites as required.
• This position is designated as safety-sensitive and requires compliance with applicable company health, safety, and fitness-for-duty requirements.
