Job summary

University of Calgary seeks an Employer Specialist for the Engineering Career Centre to build and maintain relationships with industry partners across local, national and international levels. The role involves outreach, internships, and managing high volumes of work with occasional provincial travel.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of eight years in engineering or related fields, with a P.Eng. designation and strong communication and analytical skills to mentor students and coordinate

Qualifications

• A degree in engineering is required, with a minimum of 8 years of engineering or technical experience.
• Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) designation is required; candidates who are in the process may be considered.
• Experience mentoring engineers in training and/or new graduates is a strong asset.
• Ability to interview, analyze information quickly and resolve problems creatively is required.
• Familiarity with Elevate system (Orbis) for tracking and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining a network of industry contacts.
• Actively marketing to recruit new employers to partner with the ECC.
• Identifying target industries and companies to grow industry partnerships.
• Proactively monitor industry connections and program performance.
• Provide guidance to supervisors and HR on creating quality internships and opportunities.
• Support ECC Career Advisors with student communications and postings.
