Canada Region Leader - General Manager, Installation Products

Role and Responsibilities

ABB is committed to pioneering digital technologies that foster safe, smart, and sustainable electrification from source to socket. Join ABB Installation Products, North America's leading manufacturer of electrification products with a 125-year history of innovation. As part of the Canadian Installation Products executive leadership team, you will significantly contribute to the division's growth and strategic direction, aiming to double engineering capabilities and expand our product range within 3-5 years.

You will lead a team of 20-30 engineers and technicians, focusing on driving efficiency, process improvements, and achieving results.

Key Responsibilities

1. Management: Lead and manage the engineering team, define strategic direction, organizational structure, and budget.
2. Product Portfolio & Innovation: Collaborate with R&D, Product Management, and Sales to generate new product ideas; define and execute the development roadmap; oversee project portfolios ensuring timely delivery and financial targets.
3. Collaboration: Partner with local business units, supply chain, production, and sales teams; provide technical support and insights on market needs and innovation.
4. People Leadership: Foster a culture of innovation, develop team skills, organize staffing, and guide employee growth with HR support.
5. Network & Visibility: Promote information sharing within the organization, enhance ABB R&D visibility internally and externally, and build relationships with universities and technical committees.
6. Intellectual Property & Risk Management: Manage risks, support IP protection, and monitor related issues for escalation.
7. Finance & Budgeting: Prepare and oversee budgets in collaboration with local and global management.
