RVA is seeking an Engineering Designer to join our Transportation team in London on a full-time, permanent basis.

Duties:
  • Assist in preparing designs for transportation projects, including roads, rail, storm/sewer, watermains, and other infrastructure.
  • Draft transportation plans, sections, and details for construction drawings.
  • Design and edit drawings using AutoCAD/Civil 3D and MicroStation/OpenRoads.
  • Identify property and utility relocation requirements for construction.
  • Collaborate with project managers, senior and intermediate engineers, and team members to develop designs, reports, and contract documents, providing support as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and appropriate.
  • Potentially work on-site as a Site Inspector during construction seasons under supervision.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
  • 0-3 years of engineering experience; new graduates encouraged to apply.
  • Strong ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff and clients.
  • Experience or aptitude for meeting timelines and budgets, proposal writing, client development, and related skills.
  • Proven ability to write reports and technical documents.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Superior English communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Personal transportation to site if necessary.
