A leading engineering firm in Toronto is seeking a recent graduate passionate about Electrical Engineering. This role involves designing industrial power distribution systems and performing site assessments among other duties. Qualifications

  • 0-3 years of electrical engineering experience preferred; new graduates encouraged.

RVA has an excellent career opportunity in our Toronto office, for a recent graduate who has a passion for Electrical Engineering.

Duties

  • Design of industrial power distribution systems (44kV to 120V), including load analysis, hydro supply sizing, substation design, underground duct banks.
  • Selection and sizing of standby power supply including Diesel and Gas generators.
  • Design of Switchgear, Switchboard, Motor Control Centers, and distribution panels.
  • Lighting system design, including fixtures, controls, lighting transformers and lighting panels.
  • Creating Control Schematics for motor starters, including Direct-on-line starters, variable frequency drives or soft starters.
  • Help prepare and coordinate working construction drawings (plans, sections and details using AutoCAD and/or Revit). Flexible ability to work in 2D or 3D.
  • Produce CAD plans and Revit electrical models from Process/Mechanical /Architectural drawings and able to maintain drafting standard.
  • Conducting Power System Studies, Power Quality Studies.
  • Perform site visits for electrical data gathering condition assessment and field inspections.
  • Works closely with project managers and other disciplines to plan and prepare construction drawings and provide support as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned and appropriate for this position.

Qualifications

  • Must have completed a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Demonstrates superior English communication skills both oral and written.
  • Registration as an Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or eligibility for registration is an asset.
  • 0-3 years’ electrical engineering experience is preferred; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to read and interpret multi-discipline engineering drawings is required.
  • Working knowledge in Revit 2015 and newer versions.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2015 and newer versions.
  • Must be a fast learner and be a motivated self-starter with the ability to solve problems.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a project team with a positive attitude towards their work, colleagues and clients.
  • Must have a strong work ethic with the desire to learn and grow.
  • Must have a valid Driving license and ability to independently travel to project sites.

Compensation Range

The salary range for this position is: $70,000.00 - $110,000.00

Compensation for this role will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business needs.
