Your Role

CPC Pumps International Inc. is part of the Atlas Copco Group, a world-leading industrial group present in more than 180 countries for approximately 150 years. It serves customers with innovative compressor, vacuum, power, and industrial technologies. CPC Pumps specializes in designing, manufacturing, testing, and servicing engineered heavy-duty process centrifugal pumps (fully API 610 compliant) for industries such as CCUS, Green Energy / Circular Economy, H2, LNG, Chem-Petrochem, and power generation since 1957.

CPC Pumps is seeking a talented professional for the role of Engineering Designer (CFD Analyst).

Purpose

The Engineering Designer (CFD Analyst) is responsible for:

  • Performing CFD analysis on centrifugal pumps to analyze and improve performance
  • Performing acoustic analysis of multistage pumps
  • Performing NPSHr analysis of impeller and pump designs
  • Designing centrifugal pump impellers, volutes, and diffusers
  • Completing pattern drawings
  • Generating performance curves
  • Reviewing pump selections
  • Calculating chamber pressure and thrust
  • Calculating maximum allowable working pressure

Responsibilities

  • Perform CFD on centrifugal pumps, including performance and NPSH, to verify hydraulic design and identify improvements
  • Interpret CFD results and recommend design improvements
  • Develop and update design standards and procedural documents
  • Collaborate with engineers to investigate and resolve design or quality issues, document findings, and implement solutions

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in engineering software such as Pumplinx, ANSYS CFX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD
  • Strong knowledge of fluid dynamics and mechanical engineering
  • Experience with rotating equipment design, preferably centrifugal pumps
  • Knowledge of API, HI, ASME, ASTM standards
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of ANSYS Fluent is an asset

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or higher preferred

Physical Demands

  • Office environment involving sedentary work and repetitive motions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with heavy workloads

Work Environment
