Job description

Position: Engineering Change Research Assistant

Contract: Initial period until (May 25th, 2028) 6 months probation period.

Location:Kincardine, ON (remote work). You will be working a standard 35–40-hour week remotely, with initial training in a project office or a Bruce Power Nuclear Facility.

Hourly Rate: $40-55/hr

SCOPE OF WORK

Bruce Power is undertaking a massive refurbishment of its Reactor Units (6 of them) over a 13-15 year period.

This refurbishment program and life extension projects includes many design modifications to unit systems,

The Morson Training Change Management team (TCM), requires assistance performing research acquiring all the necessary engineering documentation for each modification, reviewing and screening documents necessary to produce Training Needs Analyses (TNA), and interfacing with Engineering. Contract ending May 25th, 2028.

Specifically:

  • Locate all required project technical documents in the Document Management System (Content Server);
  • Pre-screen the technical documents and load the latest revision/most relevant into the respective TCM OneNote page for each specific project;
  • Interface with Engineering to follow-up on technical questions from TNA Authors to allow them to continuing working on other projects;
  • Manage Action Tracking Assignments/Maximo successors to enable Training Division oversight of Modifications Training Design/Delivery/Evaluation/Initial Training Program Updates
  • Create Action assignments as identified in respective TNAs
  • Monitor Action status for tracking
  • Review Action completion notes to check that TNA assignments were accurately completed
  • Report on Action status to TCM Direct Work Supervisor for both quantitative and qualitative assessments
  • Support other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 3 Year Community College Graduate of Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology or newly graduated Engineer.
  • Sufficient technical background to read and understand Design Engineering & Project documentation;
  • Proven ability to learn as extensive training/mentoring will be provided for Maximo, Bruce Power ECC processes, Bruce Power Systematic Approach to Training, Training Change Management governance and processes, Content Server
  • Proficient with MS Office Professional suite of applications;
  • Must obtain CSIS and OPP security clearances through Bruce Power security.
  • Initially, hours of work will be 35 hours per week.
