THIS ROLE WILL BE FOCUSED ON A 2 YEAR PROJECT (SEPTEMBER 2027)

Key Responsibilities

  • Engineering Change Leadership: Drive the execution of engineering change initiatives from intake through implementation, ensuring each change delivers measurable productivity, compliance, or quality improvements across multi-plant operations. Transform engineering Bills of Materials (eBOMs) into optimized manufacturing Bills of Materials (mBOMs), leveraging configuration control and traceability matrices. Lead the development and refinement of Production Control Plans, Standard Work, and SOPs in response to evolving product, tooling, and routing needs. Ensure accountability for Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), and Factory Change Notices (FCNs), with a focus on timely execution and value realization.

  • Digital Transformation & PLM Optimization: Deploy advanced Windchill PLM strategies to streamline workflows, automate lifecycle management, and ensure data integrity across document and part systems. Integrate digital thread feedback loops between design, production, and quality to enable real-time insights, rapid iteration, and waste reduction. Accelerate mBOM transformation to reduce engineering-to-production handoff times and enhance manufacturability alignment.

  • Cross-Functional Execution & Continuous Improvement: Align engineering, production, quality, and CI teams to ensure changes are scalable and plant-floor-ready. Facilitate Gemba Walks with multi-disciplinary teams to validate change adoption, gather operator feedback, and translate insights into standard work improvements. Lead root cause and impact assessments using Lean A3s, value stream mapping, and 8D methodologies to maximize transformation ROI.

  • Compliance, Quality & Risk Assurance: Support audit readiness by validating engineering changes against safety, regulatory (ISO, ASME, UL), and quality system requirements. Conduct pre-change risk assessments to mitigate potential disruptions to production, inventory, or product quality, ensuring alignment with success metrics.

Key Performance Metrics (ROI Aligned):

  • 30% reduction in change implementation cycle time (YOY)

  • 90% of changes meeting business-case ROI metrics

  • Zero unplanned change-related production interruptions

  • 25% faster shop floor change adoption

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum 2 years in engineering change or manufacturing transformation roles with proven impact on throughput, cost, or quality.

  • Deep working knowledge of Windchill PLM or similar platforms, including workflows, document control, and lifecycle processes.

  • Demonstrated success in eBOM-to-mBOM transformation with measurable improvements to assembly efficiency or inventory optimization.

  • Strong leadership in cross-functional technical teams and stakeholder alignment.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.

  • Experience in regulated manufacturing environments (e.g., HVAC, automotive) with multi-site change coordination.

  • Familiarity with CMII methodologies, Lean, Six Sigma, or Theory of Constraints frameworks.
