Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Area Lead to join our team at our site located in Southall, West London.

In your role, you will support the PSM in delivering the maintenance strategy, working closely with the Engineering Lead to ensure that the site plant and equipment are available, reliable, and meet all business requirements by utilising the site CMMS and the group maintenance strategy to deliver a world-class maintenance engineering department.

Our ideal candidate will lead by example and drive a culture of continuous improvement, motivate the engineering team to deliver sustainable reliability of equipment through proactive maintenance. Taking ownership of the department whilst on shift, maintaining systems essential to the operation of an efficient engineering department, you will also:

• Hold a qualification of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Be an excellent fault finder with strong mechanical skills and a good working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLCs.
• Be expected to accurately record all maintenance work using our computerised maintenance system; strong computer skills are essential.

The role is crucial to the efficient running of the site, and therefore, you will be required to demonstrate excellent communication skills when liaising with internal departments and external contractors. A flexible and proactive approach is necessary to meet the overall needs of the business. Ideally, you will have direct experience working with food processing and packaging equipment; however, familiarisation training on this specialist equipment can be provided for the right candidate.
