Job Description

Engineer – Program Manager

The Engineer – Program Manager position is responsible for independently managing assigned tasks or projects, acting as a key customer contact to develop a clear understanding of all customer standards and scope of work. This role involves liaising with suppliers and internal departments to ensure timely project completion within budget, while exceeding customer expectations. The position also provides guidance and support to other engineers.

Performance Expectations

  1. Take new products from concept to production.
  2. Track all program elements to ensure budgets and timelines are maintained, and communicate changes effectively to stakeholders.
  3. Identify sources for capital equipment and supervise equipment buy-off.
  4. Lead APQP team and activities.
  5. Specify technical components, sourcing, and develop suppliers.
  6. Participate in continuous improvement based on performance feedback.
  7. Specify tools and fixtures as needed.
  8. Estimate cycle times for operations.
  9. Prepare quotations.
  10. Maintain control of customer drawings and revisions.
  11. Ensure processes can produce parts to specifications and modify processes when needed.
  12. Keep records and transmit information to departments.
  13. Evaluate building systems to meet increased demands.
  14. Complete schedules to track project progress.
  15. Establish and review annual budgets, analyze costs, and identify waste reduction measures.
  16. Coordinate project teams in product design, development, and building.

Credentials

  • Post-secondary degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Program Management course or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years experience in machining or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to write technical proposals.
  • Proficiency in software applications like Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks.
  • Experience with statistical analysis software and CAD/CAM tools.
