A leading mining operation in Ontario is seeking a Co-op Mining Engineer to assist with planning and drill & blast design for open-pit operations. The successful candidate will design drill patterns, monitor drilling quality, and assist with blast area management. Ideal candidates will be enrolled in a bachelor's program in Mining Engineering and have at least one year of relevant experience. This role offers a rotation schedule of 14 days on/off and emphasizes a strong commitment to safety.
The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada’s largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Greenstone Gold Mines LP is owned by Equinox Gold Corp, a Vancouver-based mining company with seven other operating mines in the United States, Mexico and Brazil.
We are seeking a Co-op Mining Engineer to join our team. Reporting to the Short-Range Planning and Drill & Blast Engineer, the successful candidate will assist with planning and drill & blast design for open-pit operations during the early phases ofmining.
This position will be based in Geraldton, Ontario on a 14 days on / 14 days off rotation.
