Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Installation Engineer to join our team on the RSSOM project in Toronto, Ontario. This role will focus on the design and coordination of cableways design, cable routing and installation along the track and within technical rooms, ensuring compliance with system requirements and local regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil or electrical works within the railway engineering context and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and instruct subcontractors on cable routing from wiring diagrams within technical rooms and along the track.
  • Propose and define new cable pathways, manage filling ratios, and ensure constructability.
  • Interface with civil partners and internal technology teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, system specifications, and local electrical codes.
  • Apply quality procedures throughout all design stages and document emissions.
  • Collaborate with civil designers to ensure integrated design implementation.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and critical issues during project development.
  • Represent the Installation Engineering team in stakeholder meetings.
  • Work within a BIM environment in accordance with the BIM Execution Plan.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 5–10 years of experience in civil works within railway engineering, particularly in construction and installation design.
  • Strong understanding of pathway and raceway sizing based on subsystem requirements.
  • Experience interfacing with civil stakeholders and managing design implementation.
  • Familiarity with Requirement Traceability Matrix and Interface Registers.
  • Experience managing contractor and subcontractor design activities.
  • Previous construction site experience is a plus.
  • High attention to detail, self-motivated, and deadline-oriented.
  • Adaptability to changing project priorities and directions.
Soft Skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain project documentation.
  • Team-oriented with a cooperative and proactive mindset.
  • Willingness to work on-site and adapt to project mobility needs.
Technical Proficiency
  • Proficient in: Revit, Aconex, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office (Word/Excel)
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit or other 3D design tools is a plus.
Education & Language Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or electrical engineering or equivalent technical background.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ontario P.Eng highly desirable
  • Clear Criminal Background check.
