Job description

Lake Shore Gold, a subsidiary of Pan American Silver, is located in Timmins, Ontario. The Bell Creek Complex, approximately 20 kilometers northeast of Timmins, consists of an underground mine and processing facility. Mineralization is associated with the Porcupine-Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt, with ore mined by narrow vein longhole stoping methods. Ore is transported to surface via a modern shaft, 1,080 meters deep, capable of processing 4,800 tonnes per day.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking to hire an Engineering Graduate / Engineer in Training (EIT) to join our Bell Creek Mine in Porcupine, ON on a full-time basis. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day, or 4 days on and 3 days off, 10 hours per day.

Please note that this role requires relocation to the Timmins area and is not a camp-based position.

As an Engineer in Training/Engineering Graduate, you will rotate through various engineering functions, which may include: Surveying, Ventilation, Ground Control, Longhole Planning, Development Design, Scheduling, and Short-term Planning.

The role may also include time embedded with underground production crews to gain firsthand experience of mine production roles.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering from an accredited university
• Seeking P.Eng. license with PEO when eligible
• Knowledge of engineering principles as they apply to ore body evaluation and underground mine operations
• Proficiency in mine planning software (Deswik.CAD and Deswik.Sched)
• Eligibility to work in Canada
