Engineer II Warehouse Control Systems
The Engineer II Warehouse Control Systems is responsible for the implementation and support of vendor supplied warehouse control systems. Interacts with clients to understand and develop automation requirements and transforms them into functional specifications and integration requirements.

Your role on the team:
- Determines warehouse management systems/warehouse control systems/labor management systems interfaces necessary to meet functional requirements
- Develops process flows that detail message trigger points, information required, and frequency
- Collaborates with solutions and engineering teams to develop the function design and documents to share with cross-functional teams, and to ensure that functionality is applied correctly and can be successfully implemented
- Acts as liaison between technical IT resources (data centers, networking, developers) and the WCS vendor resources
- Opens and manages WCS issues with off-site support. Performs basic troubleshooting when WCS issues occur and helps connect and coordinate with vendor support to resolve issues
- Assists on CIRT calls by coordinating vendor support and on-site resources as well as by applying troubleshooting techniques to resolve issues.
- Trains associates on how to preform WCS task through the UI
- Conducts daily, weekly, and monthly system health checks
- Assists in material handling equipment and warehouse control system commissioning, including test script writing, schedule development, data preparation, test execution and issue resolution
- Assists more senior team members with providing engineering leadership and executive team with monthly WCS updates
- Participates in an after-hours on-call support rotation of approximately one week per month
- Other duties as required and assigned
What you need: (requirements)
Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field with sufficient experience
- Minimum 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination education and experience in one or more of WCS software, material handling automation, and warehouse management systems implementation is preferred
- 3PL warehousing, distribution center or fulfillment experience preferred
- Varied industrial or distribution background such as food and beverage, retail and apparel, FMCG, healthcare, or automotive is preferred
- PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Basic database or SQL query writing experience
