Description
The Engineer I executes engineering tasks within allocated systems design in compliance with schedule and budget specifications. The Engineer I ensures integration of the systems into the ship and performance of the systems from concept design efforts through to delivery.
Note : Due to business needs this position is required to be fully on-site based at 2 Pemberton Avenue North Vancouver.
What youll do
- Executeallocatedsystems design in compliance with schedule and budget specifications.
- Ensure full and functional integration of the systems into the ship and validate the systems spatial integration into the model with all system data current and accurate.
- Support the rapid and agile concept development process to ensure the output is a healthy concept design sufficient for the next phases of the shipbuilding process.
- Ensure functional performance of the system from installation through to the test sell-off and delivery of the ship.
- Conduct material definition of assigned system and configuration of the material baseline through functional and production baseline.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of other engineering disciplines customer representatives and external suppliers.
- Ensure quality of design products and complianceto specifications.
- Follow discipline-specific standards.
What youll bring
Bachelors degree ina relevant Engineering or Naval Architecture degreedesirable.Engineer In Training (EIT) designation with a recognized accredited institution.2 years of post-secondary progressively senior experience in Engineering preferably with knowledge of ship / maritime systems or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Analytical skills to gather and analyze / synthesize data confirming its accuracy and adequacy as a key part of the collective analysis / synthesis process.Technical writing skillsincludethe ability to produce and present clear detailed written technical specifications procedures and reports.Understanding of RHINO CADMATICShipConstructor & AutoCAD software document control systems and databases.Ability to work effectively across a multi-disciplined team.Works underthe direction of more experienced team members.Organizational and interpersonal skills.Committed to a high standard of safety and able to follow all safety laws and all the employers safety policies and rules.Proficient computer skills. In determining final salary Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidates skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity.
