Engineer I (Computer Application Forensic)

Apply: Remote type Hybrid

Hours: 37.5

Pay Details: $76,800 - $115,200 CAD

Job Description:

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Proactively research Computer Forensic solutions available in the market.
  2. Work with Vendors to determine appropriate tools for the company and investigation partners.
  3. Participate in implementation of tools while following strict procedures and controls to ensure top level security for the company.
  4. Ensure tools are available, stable with ample capacity for investigations to occur (some after hour work may be required).
  5. Help maintain systems for patching, keeping versions of software up to date and supported by vendor.
  6. Perform tasks mandatory to maintaining systems in the company.
  7. Responsible for the management oversight of the team's computer forensic lab and network infrastructure.

Required Qualifications:

  1. At least 5 years of experience in digital forensics, incident response or cyber investigative analysis.
  2. At least 5 years of experience with Windows Desktop and Server operating systems.
  3. Strong knowledge of network systems and ability to understand/implement firewalls with Network specialists' assistance.
  4. Experience with implementing and understanding systems used for Digital Forensic applications such as Magnet Axiom, Vound Intella, Encase and CrowdStrike.
  5. Experience implementing Forensic applications in a corporate setting.
  6. Ability to communicate technical issues and challenges with non-technical people in an easy to understand way.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, organization, leadership, and planning skills.
  8. Strong ability to manage problems and issues with the system when needed.
  9. Self-starting and high ownership skills.
  10. Occasional on-call will be required.
  11. ServiceNow experience is a plus.
  12. Knowledge of enterprise systems and infrastructure.
  13. Bachelor's Degree-BA/BS.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. BA or BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree a plus.
  2. 5+ years of experience managing a forensic team and lab.
  3. Familiarity with network architecture and security infrastructure placement.
  4. Familiarity with security tools such as Anti-Virus, SEIM systems and Data Loss Prevention tools.
  5. Ability to handle conflict effectively, by overcoming differences of opinion and finding common ground.
  6. Can evaluate data and courses of action to reach logical, pragmatic decisions.
  7. Applies innovation and creativity to problem-solving.
