Description

Based out of our Sherwood Park field office, the Engineer, Field Operations reports to the Manager of Operations Engineering. The role supports Inter Pipeline's strategies to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable asset operations, manages operating expenses, and supports construction projects. The Engineer will also provide engineering support to our Conventional and Long-Haul Field Operations as needed.

Key Activities and Responsibilities
  • Scope projects, evaluate alternatives, prepare cost estimates, and recommend solutions
  • Notify and involve relevant stakeholders in proposed changes
  • Coordinate and manage field inspectors, contractors, and vendors
  • Provide engineering expertise for equipment and pipeline system operations and maintenance
  • Respond to field, management, and technical requests
  • Manage small Management of Change (MOC) projects
Education, Skills, and Experience
  • Engineering degree (preferably mechanical) and registration with APEGA (and APEGS as an asset) as a Professional Engineer
  • 5+ years of related industry experience
  • Project management skills, including planning, cost, scope tracking, and reporting
  • Knowledge of current standards, codes, rules, and regulations related to process engineering and pipeline design
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-driven and motivated, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
Hours

Full-time permanent position with approximately 30% travel within northern Alberta (mainly day trips).
