Our Equipment Reliability Program within the Engineering Support Department is hiring an Engineer / Engineering Trainee. This permanent, full-time position offers a competitive benefits, compensation, and pension package, located on-site in Tiverton, Ontario.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical evaluations, advice, and solutions supporting engineering change control, operation, and maintenance of Bruce Power facilities.
  • Assisting in analysis and recommending solutions to improve equipment reliability.
  • Identifying adverse conditions and opportunities in assigned areas.
  • Preparing risk assessments and proposing solutions with cost or financial evaluations.
  • Monitoring maintenance and operational issues, implementing solutions when appropriate.
  • Escalating concerns when work does not progress as required.
  • Collaborating with internal and external organizations to support engineering needs.
  • Staying updated on industry best practices and updating documentation accordingly.
  • Reviewing modifications related to their functional area.
  • Participating in training and development activities.
  • Performing additional duties as required.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of processes, equipment, and systems affecting safety, reliability, and performance.
  • Ability to identify process improvements and lead change initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills for reports and recommendations.
  • Experience in problem solving, risk assessment, and technical evaluations.
  • Proactive risk management skills.
  • Ability to work across disciplines.
  • Experience with reliability engineering or asset management (asset considered an asset).
  • Familiarity with WANO/INPO performance monitoring (asset considered an asset).
  • Experience with mechanical/electrical equipment or systems (asset considered an asset).
  • Knowledge of ASME/CSA codes and standards (asset considered an asset).

Education and Experience:

Engineer (Occupation Code 670325)

  • 4-year University degree in Engineering.
  • Ontario P.Eng. designation required.
  • 6 to 8 years of experience considered necessary.

Engineering Trainee (Occupation Code 670207)

  • 4-year University degree in Engineering.
  • Must obtain a valid P.Eng. certification.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience considered necessary.
