Basic Job Functions:
The following is an entry-level corporate controls position where a successful candidate will be required to assist with the global implementation and development of electrical controls systems/designs, PLC/HMI programming, perform vendor equipment check-out, equipment/system start-ups, data collection, and optimization of control systems.
Education/Experience:
- Minimum 1 - 5 years of manufacturing equipment controls engineering experience.
- Associates/bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
Required Skills/Competencies:
- Knowledge and experience in controls engineering techniques applicable to global facilities in North America, Asia, and Europe.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical/electronic control systems.
- Understanding of global manufacturing processes and safety standards.
- Proficient in AutoDesk AutoCAD for creating electrical schematics and panel layouts.
- Knowledge of programming Rockwell Automation Logix PLCs, including ladder and function block diagrams.
- Experience with Rockwell Automation HMIs such as PanelView Plus, PanelView Plus CE, and RSView SE.
- Experience designing, programming, and commissioning control networks like ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, and Ethernet.
- Understanding of robotic systems, programming, safety, and implementation practices.
- Familiarity with computer hardware, applications, and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Ethernet architectures and systems, basic server architecture, and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, both oral and written.
Essential Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide global support to manufacturing facilities.
- Assist with the installation and implementation of new equipment worldwide.
- Maintain and update electrical drawings for manufacturing processes globally, ensuring documentation is current.
- Design and ensure manufacturing control systems meet standards and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment control issues globally.
- Coordinate with departments and suppliers to ensure controls policies are followed.
- Assist senior engineers on large projects.
- Maintain effective communication and foster teamwork.
- Adhere to safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
- Design, program, and coordinate small-scale control systems and projects.

- Understand client requirements, analyze data, and resolve problems, collaborating with stakeholders.
- Participate in research, stay updated on IT and control technologies, and contribute to publications.
- Identify opportunities for technology to improve processes and present relevant innovations.
- Translate logical designs into physical designs, produce detailed documentation, and prototype solutions.
- Develop, test, and document programs, review specifications, and conduct safety and risk analyses.
- Evaluate components for sustainability, define test conditions, and analyze test results.
- Manage software builds, configure hardware, and perform testing and troubleshooting.
- Install, remove, and support hardware/software, maintaining records and assisting users.
- Use management tools for performance monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of systems and networks.
- Respond to support requests, document actions, and escalate issues as needed.

Reporting Relationships:
- This position will not have direct reports.
Travel:
- 0% - 5% for training or as needed.
- Extended training in Ohio or Alabama may be required before plant start-up.
Estimated Salary Range:
- $67,400 - $96,000 annually.
US Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, lift weights, push/pull, and use hands for repetitive tasks.
- Visual acuity and color distinction.
- Ability to reach, stoop, kneel, or bend occasionally.
- Compliance with safety standards and PPE use required.
