Job description

Hourly pay range: $40-42
Responsibilities
  1. Provide expertise and technical leadership in the design of systems involving momentum, energy, and mass transport.
  2. Perform simulations for aero/thermal development, supporting cooling, thermal protection, and climate control development.
  3. Work closely with Thermal Integration engineers, Engine Systems, HVAC/Interior, Body engineering, and others to communicate simulation results and recommendations.
  4. Use simulation software such as STAR-CCM+, ANSA, and TAITherm.
  5. Conduct vehicle-level CFD simulations to support Aero/Thermal Development, including cooling and thermal protection.
  6. Perform CFD simulations focused on automotive paint processes, especially electrodeposition coating (eCoat).
  7. Contribute to future vehicle programs focusing on process efficiency and innovation.
  8. Develop and execute CFD simulations for new programs based on vehicle content and objectives.
  9. Communicate results and implement design improvements with engineering teams.
  10. Prepare presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
  11. Ensure CFD model validity and correlation.
  12. Make design changes to demonstrate benefits and perform 'what if' studies.
  13. Engage fully in vehicle development activities and take ownership of simulation tasks.
  14. Participate in vehicle testing to enhance correlation between physical tests and simulations.
  15. Collaborate with offshore teams as needed.
Basic Qualifications
  1. Minimum 3 years of experience with a commercial CFD software package, preferably STAR-CCM, ANSA, and Taitherm.
  2. Solid understanding of fluid flow and heat transfer.
  3. Knowledge of vehicle systems, especially cooling, HVAC, and Powertrain.
  4. Exposure to thermal testing and validation is a plus.
  5. Experience with JAVA and Matlab is an asset.
  6. Master's Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
  7. Strong focus on CFD methods, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer.
  8. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to travel to the USA 1-2 times per month for meetings.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Automotive product development experience (minimum 3-5 years).
  • Experience in an automotive OEM environment.
  • Hybrid onsite/remote work setup.
