Job summary

Spirit of Math in Milton, Ontario is seeking a dedicated Grade 3/4 Teacher who ensures a structured, nurturing learning environment for young students.

You will deliver lessons using Spirit of Math methods, assess progress, and provide timely feedback to students and parents, while maintaining high expectations.

The ideal candidate is patient, gregarious, dependable and a team player who thrives on helping children develop strong mathematical foundations through engagement and collaboration.

Qualifications

• A degree from a recognized college or university is necessary.
• A Bachelor of Education degree is an asset, but not mandatory.
• Ability to foster a high-trust learning environment and support student growth.

Responsibilities

• a) Effectively managing the classroom to maintain a safe, orderly learning environment
• b) Adhering to the Spirit of Math teaching methodology and administrative system
• c) Delivering lessons to students
• d) Grading students assignments, tests and exams
• e) Building and maintaining relationships with parents
• f) Addressing issues with students’ performance and behaviour
• g) Drafting report cards three times per year
• h) Managing assistant teachers as needed
• i) Maintaining an up-to-date and accurate records of grades and attendance
• j) Performing peer evaluations periodically
• k) Attending professional development sessions several times per year

Education

Bachelor of Education degree is an asset but not mandatory
