Job Title: Engagement Manager/Senior IT Project Lead – Digital Services

Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid – Onsite presence required occasionally)

Engagement Type: Full-time Contract

Duration: 12 months, with potential 2 x 6-month extensions

Rate: Competitive hourly rate (commensurate with experience)

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Lead to support a multi-stakeholder technology transformation project for a public sector organization in British Columbia. The project involves the implementation of a case management application and adheres to a hybrid Agile-Waterfall delivery approach.

The consultant will be embedded in a collaborative environment with executive-level visibility, cross-functional stakeholders, and vendor partners. This is a client-facing role requiring excellent communication, risk management, and governance skills.

Project Domain:

The Senior Project Manager will lead the delivery of a case management system implementation within a BC public sector regulatory agency. The system will support business functions such as licensing, compliance monitoring, investigations, and regulatory enforcement across financial services sectors. Experience working in public sector or regulated environments is a strong asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex technology and business transformation initiatives, ensuring scope, timeline, and budget alignment.
  • Oversee multiple workstreams including technology, change management, and operations.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, vendors, and delivery partners to ensure quality outcomes.
  • Manage project budgets, tracking, and reporting.
  • Facilitate project meetings, risk reviews, and post-implementation reviews.
  • Apply hybrid Agile-Waterfall methodologies in project execution.
  • Attend periodic onsite meetings/events in Downtown Vancouver.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • PMP or equivalent Project Management certification.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience leading complex projects ($1M+), with multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT project delivery or software implementations.
  • Demonstrated experience with hybrid project methodologies and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong business case writing, RFP development, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Candidates located in Metro Vancouver or adjacent regions preferred.

Engagement Terms:

  • Full-time contract (40 hrs/week)
  • Must be available to attend in-person interview in Downtown Vancouver on June 23 or 24 (if shortlisted)
  • Travel costs are not reimbursed by the client
