Job description

Overview

At KPMG, you’ll join a team of diverse and dedicated problem solvers, connected by a common cause: turning insight into opportunity for clients and communities around the world.

The Engagement Analyst (EA) role supports local office and business leadership in achieving key metrics. EAs focus on engagement management through detailed analysis, reporting, and processing of complex transactions using IBS (SAP), ensuring leadership has accurate and relevant financial information for evaluating business performance.

What You Will Do
  1. Process Engagement Management transactions within IBS, including engagement code closeouts, ERP adjustments, gain/loss realization, bill allocations, and A/R write-offs.
  2. Conduct regular and ad hoc reporting and analyses related to client accounts, such as monthly chargeable hours and billings.
  3. Review daily reports for compliance with local policies, especially regarding ERPs, large closeouts, unbilled WIP, and report findings to Partners and Managers.
  4. Prepare billing summaries for Audit Independence letters.
  5. Review Engagement Code setups to ensure correct coding (e.g., BA, profit centre, partner).
  6. Assist Business Unit Leaders and Partners with periodic WIP and A/R valuations.
  7. Follow up on 'on account' payments and determine allocation.
  8. Handle refunds to clients for duplicate payments, etc.
  9. Coordinate with internal teams to resolve issues related to engagement setup and delivery within IBS.
  10. Serve as a reference for Partners, Billing Specialists, and Administrative Assistants regarding IBS, HANA Reports, and other financial tools.
  11. Maintain VersaPay, including updates and client communications.
  12. Identify opportunities for process improvements and value addition.
  13. Perform any additional responsibilities as assigned.
What You Bring To The Role
  1. Strong accounting knowledge.
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience in billing or finance.
  3. Experience at a professional services firm is an asset.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  5. Ability to learn new software quickly; familiarity with IBS is an asset.
  6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  7. Flexible, adaptable, with strong interpersonal and client service skills.
