Job summary

CWP Energy, Montreal-based, seeks a Trading Risk & Performance Analyst to strengthen risk, performance, and opportunity understanding across our Power Flow investment strategy. You’ll translate complex analyses for senior leadership and build dashboards and models with traders to improve decision-making.

The role requires 2–5+ years in quantitative roles, a degree in an analytical field, and fluency in English and French.

Qualifications

• Degree in a highly analytical discipline (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Quantitative Finance, Economics)
• 2–5+ years in a quantitative/analytical role in energy or financial sectors
• Strong interest in financial/electricity markets
• Ability to connect technical concepts with business decisions
• Excellent communication of complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences
• Bilingual in English and French is a plus
• Proficient with Python/SQL/Excel or similar tools
• Curious and motivated to learn in a fast-evolving market

Responsibilities

• Develop in-depth understanding of Financial Transmission Rights (FTRs) and electricity markets (ERCOT, PJM, MISO)
• Analyze portfolio performance and identify drivers of returns and risk
• Evaluate transmission constraints, congestion patterns and market fundamentals
• Translate quantitative analyses into clear insights for senior leadership
• Build dashboards, reporting tools, and analytical models for portfolio visibility
• Collaborate with traders to strengthen investment analysis and decision-making
• Leverage automation to enhance workflows and reporting capabilities
