Ideal candidates have a degree in OR/Applied Math and 3+ years in production or research settings, with strong Python/SQL skills and experience backtesting using MLflow or similar

Qualifications

• 3+ years building optimization models in production or research.
• Backtesting models with historical data; track experiments.
• Strong Python and SQL for large time-series data.
• Translate real-world operational problems into models.
• Independent work in early-stage, ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and own optimization models for battery and PRL performance against price signals.
• Lead battery optimization project after shadowing external build team.
• Backtest models against historical data before deployment.
• Track experiments and backtests in MLflow for comparability.
• Collaborate with forecasting data scientists for inputs.
• Coordinate with Data Engineering on data quality.
• Support expansion to AESO, PJM, NYISO, MISO, ERCOT.
