Job summary

The University of Alberta invites applications for a tenure-track Endowed Chair position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in Indigenous Forestry. The Chair will work to decolonize the forestry curriculum and advance Indigenous perspectives in forest management.

The successful candidate will collaborate with Indigenous communities, academic colleagues, and the forestry sector, developing experiential learning opportunities and Indigenous-taught courses as part of the Alberta School

Qualifications

• Experience integrating Indigenous knowledge with Western science in forestry education or research.
• Ability to collaborate with Indigenous communities and stakeholders.
• Experience developing experiential learning opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead an Endowed Chair program in Indigenous Forestry.
• Promote Indigenous-taught courses and integrate Indigenous perspectives in forestry education and research.
• Engage with Indigenous communities, academic colleagues, the forestry sector and industry to address contemporary forestry challenges.
