Position Summary

EMTH 310 – Teaching Mathematics in Elementary Schools (Pre-K to Grade 8)

This course is designed to address the philosophies, goals, curriculum documents, and methods of instruction and assessment of elementary and middle school (PreK to 8) mathematics. A critical, resource-based approach to this course will provide opportunities for students to reflect on and construct understandings of key issues in mathematics education.

This course is part of the University of Regina’s Faculty of Education Bachelor of Education YNTEP Program offered in Whitehorse, YT.

Position Requirements

Normally it is preferred that applicants will have a Master of Education degree appropriate to the area of instruction. Applicants should also have experience in the education system appropriate to the content of the course applied for, knowledge of, and experience with the Saskatchewan curriculum, knowledge and experience with Faculty of Education programs, and current knowledge of issues related to the course for which the applicant has applied. University teaching experience is an asset. Preference may be given to local candidates.
