Qualifications

Facility: RWJBH Mobile Health (EMS)

Department: MH Central Communication

Location: Mobile Health, ONE ROBERT WOOD JOHNSON PLACE, NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ 08901

Job Overview:

The Dispatcher-EMT is responsible for answering 9-1-1 telephone calls and other calls, screening them according to the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED) ProQA system, and dispatching appropriate resources.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Driver's License
  • American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification
  • APCO BTC or State approved equivalent Certification
  • IAED Advanced Emergency Medical Dispatcher Certification
  • Hazmat Material Awareness training Certification
  • Weapons of Mass Destruction or CBRNE Awareness training Certification
  • ICS 100, 200, and NIMS 700, 800 Certification

Preferred:

  • PHTLS/ITLS
  • 1-3 years of previous dispatch experience in firefighting/EMS
Scheduling Requirements:
  • Full-Time, Days
  • 40 hours per week
Essential Functions:
  • Answering 9-1-1 and other calls, screening with IAED ProQA, dispatching resources
  • Utilizing CAD, radio, and telephone systems for communication and safety updates
  • Maintaining superior communication and customer service skills
