We connect newcomers to meaningful employment and support employers in building inclusive hiring and workplace practices.

The Role: Employment Support Facilitator (Group Initiatives Focus) We are seeking a creative, organized, and dynamic team member to join our Employment Services team as an Employment Support Facilitator focused on developing and leading group-based programming. This role will play a key part in delivering impactful employment readiness services while supporting the overall newcomer experience across our programs.
Key Responsibilities
Group Program Design and Facilitation
·Develop and deliver engaging group-based sessions (virtual and in-person) on topics such as:
oResume and cover letter writing
oInterview skills and mock interviews
oJob searching and labour market navigation
oNetworking and professional communications
·Lead the Connectee Orientation Session for newcomers selected to join the National Connector Program
·Tailor workshops to meet the needs of different newcomer groups and incorporate inclusive practices
One-on-One Employment Support (As Needed)
·Collaborate with other Employment Support Facilitators to provide individual employment coaching as needed (resumes, cover letters, mock interviews, and employment planning).
·Collaborate with other Employment Support Facilitators to ensure newcomers are well-supported and no one falls through the cracks
Program Coordination and Collaboration
·Work closely with the Employer & Industry Engagement Team to ensure alignment of group sessions with employer expectations and job opportunities
·Liaise with other team members to integrate employment topics with mental wellness and inclusive practices where relevant
·Track attendance, notes, and communication in HubSpot
·Coordinate and manage event logistics using Outlook, Eventbrite, and Hubspot in collaboration with the Admin Coordinator
·Maintain communication with the team through Slack and support virtual programming on Microsoft Teams
·Use Asana to manage group session planning, deadlines, and task coordination
About You
·You love engaging groups and creating learning experiences that are practical and empowering
·You are highly organized and confident in both planning and delivering workshops
·You are tech-comfortable and eager to learn new systems, we use HubSpot, Microsoft Teams, Eventbrite, Outlook, Slack, and Asana
·You are aware of Canadian workplace culture and committed to using a DEI lens in your facilitation
·You thrive in a fast-paced, community-oriented environment and are passionate about supporting newcomers
·You are flexible, collaborative, and comfortable supporting across different program needs
Qualifications
·Degree or diploma in career development, education, social work, human resources, or a related field
·Experience designing and facilitating workshops or group-based training sessions
·Strong communication and intercultural skills
·Familiarity with digital platforms, including Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Eventbrite, HubSpot, Slack, and Asana
·Knowledge of Canadian workplace practices and inclusive facilitation strategies is a strong asset
·Familiarity with immigrant and refugee newcomer experiences is a strong asset
·Proficiency in another language (not required, but an asset)
Work Environment
·This is a full-time role, in-person facilitation is required at our St. John’s location, with virtual sessions included
·While the role is primarily in-person, Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, some evening and weekend work will be needed and flexibility is required to adjust to program and participant needs

Benefits:
Salary Range: $53,000 – $64,523 - placement on the salary scale is commensurate with education and experience.
