Job summary

WoodGreen Community Services in Toronto is seeking an Employment Consultant for a contract position ending March 31, 2027. The hybrid role combines in-person client work at 815 Danforth Avenue with remote work one day every two weeks.

You will manage a caseload of jobseekers, deliver employment supports, lead workshops, and engage with local employers to secure opportunities. Strong counselling, time management, and computer literacy are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Social Work, Social Services Workers or related field.
• Experience and/or training in career counselling and job development.
• Experience in leading group workshops or activities.
• Knowledge of labour market trends and employment of vulnerable populations.
• Knowledge of pre-employment support methods and re-training opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Build rapport and an emotionally supportive context for clients seeking employment.
• Manage a caseload of jobseekers in various stages of readiness.
• Readily participate in training and coaching to achieve targets.
• Move clients toward employment with pace and urgency through intake and activities.
• Engage with employers to confirm open positions and advocate for clients.
• Complete documentation and data entry per WoodGreen procedures.
